The Appalachian Mountaineer

It’s not a race, it’s a ride.

the rides…

Birthed from the ashes of this new landscape we’re living in, the Appalachian Mountaineer has been created by the founders of the original Appalachian Journey.

The Appalachian Mountaineer is a ride, not a race, created to get us out, challenge our mental and physical fortitude, and to explore the beauty of our sexy, yet rugged Blue Ridge Mountains.

With a choice of 22mi, 40mi, 65mi, or 85mi courses, all riders will experience challenging National Forest gravel roads, gradual old rail grades, winding rural farm roads, and an optional river crossing within a half mile from the finish.

THE BEST PART…all riders will be rewarded with a hot meal (chili w/cornbread - veg or meat), a cold beer, live music, and a place for the whole family to celebrate together over the weekend on Wilderness Adventure’s 500 acres of creek-front property in Craig County, VA.
